“It is an incredibly difficult task to lead people from self-centered consumerism to being servant-hearted Christians. It is not a task for the fainthearted. But it is what the Great Commission is all about.” – Rick Warren
That’s what KW is all about- Developing sold out followers of Jesus.

Sending me a postcard with a crude -but admittedly current & hip – reference to fellatio seems to be a strange tactic for the church triumphant.
Are Christians homophobic? Hmmm. As much at the Apostles and the church fathers.
Edgy might get people in the door, but what pomos need is substance not marketing. Spiritual disciplines not prozac.
Brother, if you want to be a shepherd, fight the wolves and feed the sheep; don’t paper over the dangers.
Pastoring is hard work in this day and age. It takes guts to preach the good news of Christ’s lordship over all and then realize that the hearers generally don’t like the message. Paul didn’t try to con the Athenians at Mars Hill – he went straight after their cherished beliefs, and guess what, no mega church was planted in Athens. That’s okay. The gospel will not be thwarted. Stay true to message and be happy with a small flock if it comes to that.
