GROW

Our vision is to be people who Worship God, Grow in our faith and in relationship to each other and are sent to love and serve the world. Worship. Grow. Send.

God wants us to worship him. Worship is what we were created for. But he also wants us to grow in our faith and in relationships to each other. Jesus was always teaching people in the bible. Sometimes he taught on a hillside, other times from a boat anchored just off shore. Why did he do this? He wanted us to know more about what God was like…and get acquainted with God’s thoughts on life.

We grow in our faith and in friendship with each other by getting into small groups of about 12 or so. Groups are designed for fellowship, deepening friendships, prayer, and a life-application look at scripture. Our groups are theme/topic based and follow a semester system, starting in February, June, and September. Each group lasts about 12 weeks. Some groups meet each week, others meet every other week, and the topics vary depending on the group. Signups for these groups take place one month before the group starts. Look out for the Small Group catalogue for the small groups forming during the next semester.

Small Group FAQ

What goes on at a Growth Group and how long is it?
Each group differs, but a typical Growth Group lasts about an hour and a half. Different groups have different themes and formats. Some groups might study “parenting” and read a book together or utilize a DVD-based curriculum. Other groups might be organized around an activity, like “fishing,” or ministry like “home repair.” There are two main goals in each group: spiritual growth and relational growth.
Do I have to make a long-term commitment to a particular Growth Group?
Nope. Each semester lasts 12 weeks long. After the 12 weeks is over, you’ll have a chance to sign up for another group in the following semester.
Where and when do Growth Groups meet?
KingsWay's Growth Groups meet throughout the week at various times and locations. Some groups meet in local houses, some meet over dinner. New groups start in February, June and September.
Do I have to be invited first before I can attend a Growth Group?
Nope! Sign ups are open to everyone—no special invitation needed.
What if I made some great friends during my Growth Group time? Can’t we continue in our Growth Group together?
Sure. This is the beauty of the semester based Growth Group system! If you want to hang out with the same bunch of people again, just sign up to be in the same group again.
Church and Christianity are both new to me. Should I wait until I become more familiar with the Bible before participating in a group?
Absolutely not! Growth Group involvement is the best way to grow in your knowledge and understanding of spiritual things. It's our desire that our groups will be a safe environment for people to grow and ask questions about faith and life!
Can I bring my kids with me to the Growth Group meeting?
Some groups provide supervision for children, but it's best to check in advance by calling the leader or host of the group you are interested in.
